CA Coastal Clean-up Day

California Coastal Cleanup Day will take place on Saturday, Sept. 15 from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. It's a great opportunity for a family day out and to help the environment.

Last year’s event saw more than 66,000 volunteers assemble on more than 1,000 sites up and down the coast, and they removed more than 800,000 pounds of trash and recyclables from state beaches.

Check out the California Coastal Commission’s website for clean-up locations - www.coastal.ca.gov

Buddy Bench on the Playground

Thanks to the Arcata Rotary our school has a Buddy Bench. Brian Lovell, our After School Director and Arcata Rotarian, helped organize the purchase and installation of the Buddy Bench.

A Buddy Bench is a bench that someone can go to if they feel lonely or left out. Others know that when someone is on the bench that they want to be asked to play. It is a great way to include people and make new friends!
