Quack and Rabbit Performance This morning the students enjoyed a puppet show by the Quack and Wabbit Puppet Theatre. Tanya Crowley and Yumi Ozaki, program directors and performers, were amazing and the shows promote a positive difference in the lives of children by teaching valuable life skills through the art of puppetry. Guess Whose DonorsChoose Project Was Funded? Congratulations to Mrs. Adams! Her DonorsChoose Project for the Chevron Fuel Your School program was funded this morning. Mrs. Adams requested $1000 worth of books and book making supplies for her classroom. We can't wait for her new materials to arrive!
Donation from Royal Gold This week we had a special delivery from Royal Gold, a local coco soil company based right here in Humboldt County. Royal Gold donated 30 bags of soil for our school garden. It's the perfect time of year to replenish our garden beds for our next planting. Thank you Royal Gold!!

Practicing Pedestrian Safety On Friday, Mrs. Hurst's second grade class took to the streets with Melanie Williams from BikesThere.com to practice pedestrian safety. This safety course is part of our Safe Routes to School grant. Don't forget our Walk and Bike to School Day on Wednesday, October 10!

Safety at AES The yard duty staff was out and about in their new safety vests. The vivid color makes the adults more visible on the playground, making it easier for students to find an adult when they need help.
Girls Basketball Tryouts Tryouts for the 4th and 5th grade girls basketball team will be held at AES with Coach Rudy on October 9th and 10th, from 6:30 - 7:30 pm.
