Welcome to Our Library!

Our school library has thousands of books for students to choose from each week. Each classroom visits the library once a week. Mrs. Allen, our librarian, reads students a story from one of the many excellent books in our collection. By fostering a love of learning and providing access to a wide range of resources, school libraries prepare students for lifelong learning and success in their future endeavors.

School libraries are crucial to student learning by:

Enhancing Literacy and Reading Skills

  • School libraries provide access to a wide range of age-appropriate books, encouraging a love of reading and improving literacy skills.
  • They offer diverse materials to support students at all reading levels and interests.
  • Libraries also play a key role in building reading stamina and encouraging exploration of different genres.

Promoting Equity and Access

  • School libraries ensure that all students, regardless of background or location, have access to essential learning resources.
  • They provide a safe and welcoming space for all students, especially those who may not have access to a public library or other learning resources.

Supporting Academic Achievement

  • Research shows that effective school library programs can improve student literacy and test scores.
  • Libraries provide a valuable supplement to classroom learning, offering resources and support for various subjects.
  • They create an environment that encourages focused learning and independent study.
